This puzzle will encourage your 3-6 and 6-9 child to develop fine motor skills and hand eye coordination while they absorb the rhythms of the church life. It provides nomenclature associated with color and church seasons for the language explosion of the 3-6 child and the need for understanding time found in the 6-9 child. The pegs represent the weeks for each of the seasons found in the Church year.
This material is designed to sit comfortably on a standard 12 inch shelf. It's footprint is smaller than the traditional CGS prism puzzle.
There are three denominational options:
1. Roman
Seasons: Advent, Sundays of Christmas, Ordinary Time, Lent, Sundays of Easter, Sundays of Ordinary Time
Peg Configuration: Christmas +3 pegs (note the following season has fewer green pegs)
2. Protestant (Advent, Christmastide, Epiphany, Lent, Eastertide, Ordinary Time)
Peg Configuration: Christmas +2 pegs
3. Custom (if you need a different seasonal configuration or peg colors)
Note:
1. The puzzle comes with the two arcs. You can remove them if desired. This leaves a small border.
2. Please be conscious, the week pegs could be a choking hazard for young children.
THIS MATERIAL COMES TO YOU UNPAINTED. (See NOTE below.) To aid in learning, you receive a pdf which you can print, mount, and use as a control card or you can purchase our cloth liturgical control mat.

The photo shows a painted liturgical calendar - way down in the description it says it comes unpainted. I wouldn't have purchased it had I known this. It is organized counter-clockwise. Christmas, Easter, and Pentecost are cut out of one of the round inner circles, so when you put them on the calendar they leave open spaces. I didn't realize it was a puzzle. I also ordered it quite a while ago - I honestly thought it wasn't coming. I had planned to use it in August, it is now mid-September. I wish I could have gotten it to say "ordinary time" where "epiphany" is listed. I didn't realize it was going to be a lengthy season of epiphany. The pegs are 3-d printed plastic, while the rest of this is wood. I'm mostly disappointed though that it isn't painted, since all the images show it as painted. I won't paint it.

We are so happy with our church year calendar. Elizabeth worked with us to tailor the calendar to our denomination. Her customer service is above and beyond!
